Part of our mission at the Family Eye Care Center & Optical Gallery is to provide the highest level or eye care. We are truly committed to delivering extraordinary eye care. Knowing that eyesight is precious, our goal is simply to be second-to-none with regards to preserving, restoring, improving or maintaining each patient’s vision. We use state-of-the art equipment to diagnose and manage the health of your eyes.
Optos Optomap
The Family Eye Care Center & Optical Gallery is proud to offer the most advanced retinal imaging technology, the Optomap®. This instrument takes a 200 degree wide-field digital image of the back of your eye (retina) through undilated pupils. The resulting image of each eye’s retina enhances the doctor’s ability to detect and monitor your eye health including systemic conditions and ocular diseases. Diseases such as diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, some cancers, glaucoma, macular degeneration, retinal tears and retinal detachments can all be detected through this type of evaluation. Early detection is critical to help maintain one’s ocular health as well as overall health.
Remarkably, the Optomap® allows your doctor to view the retina of each eye in a pain-free, non-invasive manner. Also, for the majority of patients, having these digital retinal images taken will eliminate the need for dilation.
Should you decide to have the Optomap® screening performed on your eyes during your routine eye exam, the doctor will review the images with you during your visit. The images will be stored in your permanent medical record at the Family Eye Care Center & Optical Gallery.
There is a cost of $39.00 to perform this procedure and it is not covered by insurance. This cost is in addition to other possible charges for your eye exam such as copays and deductibles.
LenSx® Laser Assisted Cataract Surgery (LACS)
Every year, millions of Americans have cataract surgery. The goal of the surgery is to remove a cloudy natural lens and replace it with an intraocular lens (IOL) to improve vision. During cataract surgery, the cloudy lens is broken into tiny pieces and then the surgeon removes the pieces. Traditionally, a surgeon would use metal knives and blades in order to manually make the incisions needed for this process. Now, however, Dr Baharozian can offer you a ‘bladeless’ procedure, which is assisted by laser technology.
Laser-assisted cataract surgery offers customization to each patient with predictable and enhanced precision. The traditional ‘manual’ part of the procedure is now preformed by a laser. The technology behind the laser captures high-resolution images of your eye, giving precise measurements and data that assist Dr. Baharozian in planning and performing a procedure to exacting specifications.
The benefits of Laser-Assisted Cataract Surgery over traditional cataract surgery are:
- A bladeless procedure that is personalized to your eyes
- Precise, reproducible performance and results
- Enhanced control and efficiency
- A CUSTOM procedure planned and performed by your surgeon for YOU
